SIMON TAYLOR 4TH AT MALCOLM CUP

Simon Taylor turned in a solid performance at the Malcolm Cup XC in Ballyclare on Sat. 29 Nov, finishing fourth overall. Veteran Eddie Bell also made a welcome return to racing after a lay off due to injury.

SILVER & BRONZE AT IRISH INTER COUNTY XC

Silver & Bronze at Irish Inter County XC

Abbey enjoyed a successful day at the Irish Inter County cross country championships on Sunday 23 November in Tramore, Co. Waterford. In the senior races, Abbey athletes accounted for four of the six men who took silver for Co. Antrim and three of the four women who took bronze for Co. Antrim. Paul Pollock secured automatic selection to the Irish team for the European Under-23 championship due to his second place finish in that category while Judi Graham, the fourth woman in the Under-23 category, waits to see if she will be selected.

IRISH UNIVERSITIES ROAD RELAYS

Irish Universities Road Relays

Three Abbey athletes helped the Queens University Belfast men’s team claim fourth place in the Irish Universities Athletic Association Road Relay Championships on Saturday 15 November at Maynooth. The Queens’ women were eighth with two Abbey athletes.

WEEKEND RESULTS - L'CASTER HALF & XC, UPDATED

Weekend Results - L'caster Half & XC, Updated

Abbey athletes were in action this weekend on the road and country. In England, Gladys Ganiel-O'Neill won the Lancaster Half Marathon in 1.20.17. In Belgium, Paul Pollock competed for Ireland at the Lotto Cross Cup and placed 33rd in a top-class field. At the McConnell Shield XC, Owen Carleton led the way with a fourth place finish.
